I've found another ancestor!

I will, from time to time, delve into our family history and try to find new people and new facts about;

our family. One recent search came up with a whole lot of information about my Dad's Grandfather, James Lincicum. My Dad had a brother, James Lincicum, so I'm assuming that he was named after his Grandfather. Anyhoo.....we had an old tin type floating around of a civil war soldier and never knew who he was so it was kept with our old family pictures.

When I uncovered the information about my Great Grandfather James Lincicum and later put 2 and 2 together and realized that this is who the guy in the picture was, here are the facts;

JAMES LINCICUM
MEMBER  IN UNITED STATES CIVIL WAR FROM 1861-1865 FOR THE STATE OF OHIO.
VOLUNTEER IN THE UNION ARMY
RANK: PRIVATE
SERVED IN THE 176TH REGIMENT-OHIO INFANTRY, COMPANY K
ORIGINALLY ENROLLED AS "LINCICOME"
ALSO SERVED IN 188TH REGIMENT OF THE OHIO INFANTRY

Well, needless to say, we were all glad to know who this 20 yr old kid was dressed up in uniform.
My Dad's brother's son was also named James, so he is James III. Fun, Huh? Another interesting fact; back in the day when sweethearts sent their guys off to war, they would frequently add a lock of their hair to the back of the picture before it was framed. I'm just itching to look back there, but I would have to break something to get into it.

And now, I would like to introduce you to some of the Grands;

Abre and Taylor, Amy's girls

This is the Joshie Bear, Heather's son and the youngest clown of the group! (yes, there are others)

Have a wonderful day, everyone and keeping smiling!  Judy
